- Responsible for defining company-wide technology vision and strategy in support of business objectives. After a gap in departmental leadership, I'm using data-driven decision-making to approach today's challenges with renewed clarity. We are moving forward with a revamped strategy and a fresh look at internal and customer-facing applications.

Helped bring to life a next-generation MPLS network scaled down to the metro level. Used a formula of fast installations and highly reliable service to bring high-speed data services where fiber is not a viable option. In 2016 I relocated to head the company’s expansion into the DFW market.

I believe individuals can be more effective in shaping our communities working locally than at the state or national level. Not to say one is more important, but it is easier to work with your friends and neighbors to achieve great things. Unfortunately, the local committees, councils, and boards often operate with many seats unfilled.
I was appointed to fill a vacancy on the city council and then elected to my seat in November 2013. My role was to listen to and represent the voters of my district and ensure the city maintained effective and efficient policies and regulations for the citizens' health, safety, and welfare. Due to my technical background, I worked on several IT-related projects at a high level for the citizens of Fort Lupton. I made many friends from this adventure and learned lots of new skills. My most significant takeaway from this experience was learning how to listen and effectively represent a voter with a different opinion or objective.
- My function was supervising the Superintendent, setting district objectives, and ensuring that everything necessary to accomplish those objectives was available. My role included providing public trust and financial security, examining solutions and programs, and ensuring best practices were enacted. In addition, I supervised various projects at a high level for the citizens of Weld RE-8 School District, focusing on IT-related initiatives. My most significant takeaway from this experience was learning to negotiate effectively in high-pressure and dynamic environments.
-
Developed relationships with specifically assigned customers to provide customized support for their environment. Utilized technical expertise to analyze, troubleshoot, and react to systems or network issues in customer environments at my data center.
- Assist and consult with customers in the design and implementation of customer architectures
- Ensured customer installations follow data center procedures and remain within SLA
- Provided Tier 1 and 2 support to customers
- Monitored customer applications and operational architectures
- Escalated issues according to customer provided documentation
- Documented incidents using a Remedy based ticket system
- Assisted the Systems Engineer to develop and maintain LAN/WAN customer environments
- Maintain detailed logs and notebooks regarding customer applications, security, and operational readiness
- Processed escalations from Tier 1 where the solution required personalized attention. Administration of mission critical components such as servers and networking equipment, including patch management and software updates. Assisted in the merger of Mesa Networks into LP Broadband forming Skybeam Responded to infrastructure alarms, network diagnosis and repair Open and close tickets with transport providers and colocation services Utilize trouble ticketing software to ensure that network outages are documented Administration of mission critical components such as servers and networking equipment, including patch management and software updates Documented incidents using a Remedy based ticket system Assisted the Systems Engineer to develop and maintain LAN/WAN customer environments Coordinated service outages and recoveries following disaster recovery procedures
- Worked to install, configure, and perform routine service of MHO Networks network systems including routers, switches, firewalls, DNS servers, E-mail servers, Web application servers, MSSQL/MYSQL administration. Provided on-call afterhours support to network events. Processed escalations from Tier 1 Help Desk.
- I started my journey here, at Layer 1, working for Axis Networks. A small structured cabling installation company in north Denver. I developed the final layout of a physical network installation and timetable for completing jobs on a strict budget. I installed, tested, and maintained over 150+ miles of fiber-optic copper network cable with campus port counts exceeding 18,000 between 5 buildings. All cabling was certified to manufacturer specifications using Fluke Networks copper and OTDR cable testers. I worked on incredible projects for companies like Janus Mutual Funds and Colorado's E-470 Highway Authority, where my work still powers the toll system today. I was also fortunate to have the opportunity to maintain the company's core IT infrastructure. I was responsible for all network hardware, servers, and applications like Great Plains Dynamics ERP (later becoming Microsoft Dynamics GP) and Goldmine CRM. In addition, I provided significant cost savings over using a Managed Services Provider. These savings freed up resources so management could weather the post-9/11 economy without laying off or furloughing employees.
